  • Right across infrastructure, there’s a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and reimagine. Whatever stage you’re at in your career, with us you’ll have an opportunity to grow and develop. Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.

    Where will you be working?

At M Group, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.  We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.

Home Decarbonisation - We’re working to eliminate fuel poverty, providing end-to-end management in energy efficiency and carbon reduction. Our team works closely with homeowners and local authority partners to provide home energy advice to prepare for Net Zero.

This is a home based role but there will be a requirement for some travel to our offices in  Bury St Edmonds, Aylesbury and elsewhere across Britain. Want to come and be a part of it?

    What will you be doing?

As a Bid Writer, you’ll help shape and secure the programmes that transform homes and support the UK’s transition to low‑carbon living. You’ll turn technical, compliance and delivery detail into high‑scoring, persuasive responses that speak clearly to client priorities and national policy direction.

You’ll take ownership of written content, work closely with technical and operational experts, and play a central role in winning public‑sector retrofit tenders.

    Your key responsibilities include:

    Bid Writing & Content Development

    • Produce clear, high‑quality and fully compliant responses for domestic retrofit tenders.
    • Own and manage bid responses, timelines and submission milestones alongside the Bid Manager.
    • Interpret scoring matrices to ensure every answer is optimised for maximum marks.
    • Translate technical and compliance information into concise, compelling narrative.
    • Align responses to client priorities and the Warm Homes Plan direction.
    • Contribute to a growing library of case studies, standard responses and supporting material.

    Collaboration & Input Integration

    • Work closely with the Bid Manager on strategy, win themes and solution design.
    • Gather content from operational leads, retrofit assessors/designers, project managers, commercial teams and social value specialists.
    • Maintain accuracy, clarity and a consistent tone of voice across all submission documents.
    • Build strong working relationships across delivery and support functions.

    Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

    • Review content for compliance with PAS2035/2030, TrustMark and the proposed delivery model.
    • Ensure every response is technically accurate, aligned and easy to understand.
    • Capture lessons learned and support the continuous improvement of tools, templates and processes.

    What you’ll bring

    Essential

    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience writing scored responses for public‑sector domestic retrofit tenders (e.g., WH:LG, Warm Homes: Social Housing/SHDF, ECO‑flex, regional programmes).
    • Strong understanding of PAS2035/2030, TrustMark requirements, delivery models, QA processes and resident‑focused workflows.
    • Proven ability to work at pace across multiple concurrent tenders with firm deadlines.
    • Excellent written communication skills — clear, concise and compliant.
    • Ability to interpret scoring criteria and tailor responses to maximise marks.
    • High proficiency in MS Word and strong document‑structuring capability.
    • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.

    Desirable but not deal breakers

    • Understanding of social value measurement and narrative development.
    • APMP training or similar bid writing development.
    • Design/layout capability.
    • Flexibility to travel to offices in Bury St Edmunds and Sutton when required.

    We offer a range of benefits designed to support your life in and out of work, some of which include;
