At M Group Telecom, we’re enabling and enhancing telecom networks, playing a lead role in the delivery of our tech enabled future.
We deliver full network cycle services for fixed, private and mobile operators.
This role will be within our Private networks where we find the best technology, manage assets and refresh systems. With 24/7 network operations, we keep things running smoothly, while operating comprehensive network repair and maintenance to keep everything in top shape.

What will you be doing?
In this role, you’ll work with SME and larger customers to design and deliver technical solutions, drawing on your experience in consultancy or solution design environments. You’ll engage with both customers and internal stakeholders, using your strong presentation and interpersonal skills to influence decisions and communicate effectively. Operating as a self-starter, you’ll manage competing pressures while producing solution designs that are both commercially viable and deliverable. You’ll apply best practice design methodologies and leverage your understanding of Telco business processes and frameworks such as eTOM or ITIL to support the delivery of complex solutions.
You’ll maintain a strong working knowledge of technologies across customer estates and telecommunications environments, ensuring you can clearly articulate the business benefits of the solution portfolio. Your responsibilities will also include developing High Level Designs (HLD), Low Level Designs (LLD), and Bills of Materials (BoM), as well as contributing to accurate project costing. Additionally, you’ll use tools such as the Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and AutoCAD to support design and documentation activities.
This role can be based anywhere in the UK, you'll be assigned a contractual location, but you'll be working from home most of the time, with ad hoc team meetings in one of our locations across the UK.
What you’ll bring
- You’ll have mission-critical, Black-Start compliant, low latency network and services using SDH / PDH and MPLS / IP technology over a mix of fibre, microwave radio and 3rd party “leased line” products including Openreach EAD and OSA & latency sub-rate services including V & X data, Voice Frequency and Optical Teleprotection (IEEE C37.94)
- You’ll have IP Network including good understanding of components of a Layer 2 & Layer 3 network, design of WAN, LAN and services
- You’ll know Fibre systems including fibre characteristics, electrical utility fibre deployment, ground deploy and 3rd party fibre along with Telecoms installation in electrical substation environment
- You’ll have experience of designing DC power supply and battery systems
- You’ll know Copper xDSL products including services via BT WBMC and SHDSL over copper “pilot” cables
- Synchronisation networks (PRC, SSU, SEC, frequency, NTP and PTP)
- Satellite services – E.g. BGAN and T-SAT services
