At Telent (part of M Group), we are recruiting x4 Assistant SCADA Engineers to join our Rail Engineering team in Warwick. This developing engineering role will support the configuration, testing and delivery of SCADA systems used within the Rail environment.
You will be based at our Warwick Headquarters (CV34 5AH) 3 days per week, with the remaining 2 days working from home or travelling to rail station control rooms and operator rooms across the UK when required. Flexibility to travel nationally is therefore essential.
What you’ll do:
- Support the planning, configuration and development of SCADA software and associated systems under the guidance of experienced engineers.
- Manipulate, review and maintain engineering data using Microsoft Excel, ensuring information is accurate and complete.
- Assist with the preparation and updating of technical drawings using CAD software.
- Complete assigned engineering activities that support projects from the initial design stage through to development, testing and deployment.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of technical, quality and regulatory documentation.
- Work collaboratively with engineering colleagues and internal and external stakeholders to complete activities safely and to the required standards.
- Attend rail station control rooms and operator rooms across the UK when required to support project and system activities.
Who you are:
You are a developing Engineer with an electrical, software or related technical background who is interested in building a career in Rail / SCADA engineering. You will be comfortable working with technical data and computer-based systems, with strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn new software, processes and engineering tools. We are particularly interest in candidates who have a strong understanding or or experience with 18th Edition or have an NIC certification. You are naturally savvy with Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advance level). Experience with coding is an advantage but not essential, as this can be taught.
Key Requirements:
- A HND, BEng or equivalent qualification or experience in electrical engineering, electronic engineering, software engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
- Strong computer literacy, including experience using Microsoft Office and Excel to work accurately with data.
- Good attention to detail, with analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to follow defined technical processes.
- The ability to work from our Warwick Headquarters (CV34 5AH) 3 days per week and travel to locations across the UK when required.
- Full right to work in the UK and eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance (this requires a minimum of 5 years’ UK residency)
- A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
