Where will you be working?
As an organisation, there is little we don’t do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom.
This role is in our Finance department, our finance team is responsible for the financial management of our Group. This includes financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

What will you be doing?
You’ll take the lead on employment tax compliance and reporting by collaborating closely with HR and finance teams. Ensure all employment tax returns are filed accurately and on time.
You’ll partner with stakeholders to offer expert advice on employment tax matters related to payroll, CIS, benefits, share schemes, LTIPs, termination payments, workforce policies, and expenses.
Also, work hand-in-hand with HR, commercial, and finance teams to navigate off-payroll working and contingent workforce compliance. Provide expertise on IR35, contractor tax status, and third-party labour providers to ensure employment tax obligations are met.
You’ll support global mobility decisions with thoughtful advice on internationally mobile employees. Help manage compliance with tax and social security, short-term business visitor obligations, and expatriate tax risks.
We’ll ask you to lead efforts to continuously improve employment tax processes by working closely with HR, Payroll, and Finance teams.
You’ll design and deliver engaging training programs for HR, Payroll, and Finance teams to deepen their knowledge of employment tax obligations and best practices. Be the go-to person for education and awareness across the group.
What you’ll bring
- CTA qualified with at least six years post qualification experience.
- A team player with a drive to contribute and wanting to make a difference.
- Experience at working with key stakeholders and building relationships.
- Organised, proactive and able to articulate in both written and oral communication.
- Have a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- An interest in tax technology and automation.
