    Where will you be working?

    We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards.  We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.

    This role will be within our Water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

    Morrison Water Services is proud to announce our new framework within Southern Water, park of a transformative £3.7 billion capital delivery programme set to revolutionise water and wastewater management for potentially a 12 Year Framework (7+5).

    What will you be doing? 

    You'll prepare and analyze key design options for review and agreement with the Project Manager and client, ensuring that all risks and gaps are effectively mitigated while consistently adhering to the Project Basis of Design. Responsibilities include performing detailed design calculations to support the sizing of mechanical, hydraulic, and building services equipment, and overseeing the development of process outputs such as P&IDs and datasheets in collaboration with the Principal Designer to create innovative engineering solutions. You will encompass conducting engineering evaluations and feasibility studies for wastewater projects, including field inspections, to assess data and identify areas for improvement. Close coordination with Project Engineers and the Southern Water Enabling Team is essential to ensure full compliance with environmental regulations and permit requirements.

    What you’ll bring 

    • Minimum of HND or bachelor’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering or able demonstrate a suitable level of experience. Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, including pumped treatment systems and hydraulics.
    • Proficiency in using engineering software and tools, such as MS office suite and relevant engineering design software packages.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in design calculations, cost estimates, and technical documentation.
    • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of water and wastewater engineering, membership of a professional organisation such as ICE or IMECHE. Professional registration will be supported
