Where will you be working?

We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.
You will be part of the Distribution and EV team. We support Distribution Network Operators across the UK and deliver EV charging infrastructure projects for a range of Charge Point Operators.
Our team installs and maintains distribution networks and ensures reliable connections for customers. carrying out electrical planned work, customer connections and network reinforcement, as well as installation of charging infrastructure for cars and electric goods vehicles

What will you be doing?
The Head of Business Development will focus on creating and building sustainable client relationships, winning new and repeat business, and developing new products and services for the sectors served by the M Group Energy, Distribution & EV business. As a senior member of the team, you will support the delivery of the Sales & Strategy objectives:
- Create, build and maintain strong client relationships
- Win new contracts with new customers on advantageous terms
- Develop new products and services to meet the needs of our markets
- Increase the pipeline of addressable opportunities within our markets
- Additionally, support the renewal and extension of existing contracts on advantageous terms
What you’ll bring
- Preferably Degree qualified, although not essential
- Great relationship management, including networking at C level
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Financial and business acumen
- Negotiation and influencing skills
- Knowledge of, and previous experience within, the utilities sector or equivalent industries such as construction, infrastructure and M&E
- Ability to foresee industry trends and formulate long-term business strategies.
- Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement with customers, regulators, and industry groups
- Ability to communicate accessibly and concisely about products or services
- Extensive responsibility with quantifiable results in customer-facing roles (e.g. contract negotiation, administration and/or management)
- Lead generation and management experience
- Understanding of the UK DNO/DSO landscape, including key players, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks would be an advantage, but not essential
