Where will you be working?
We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.
This role will be within our Demand management and network infrastructure team. We look after 60 million meters and our teams provide advanced metering solutions to help manage demand for essential suppliers.

As a Trainee Meter Fitter you'll have the opportunity to work on behalf of Thames Water installing Smart Meters on domestic properties and non-household (Commercial) properties and we'll require you to travel in and around the entire London area.
You'll be fully trained on all aspects of External meter fitting where progression to Plumbing (Internal meter installations) and gaining a basic plumbing qualification with City and Guilds with fantastic earning potential. All we ask of you is to bring your enthusiasm to work, be able to follow instructions and adhere to health and safety legislation. You'll need to be able to use mobile applications.
You'll represent Thames Water and M Group Water whilst carrying out your role and be able to communicate with members of the public, so bring a smile to work.
The role will be varying and you’ll be required to work outdoors in all weathers as well as walking and standing on uneven ground. You must also be able to work within a confined space, without restriction.
