    Aviation- Our Aviation team works across a wide range of specialist civil, mechanical and electrical engineering works including major international airports, regional airports and RAF airfields.

    What will you be doing?

    • Manage high volume and low-value contracts.
    • Develop and maintain suitable site cost reporting tools to support financial cost management, in line with the company costing function.
    • Effective and professional engagement with client representatives.
    • Work with the client to deliver the project and to achieve value for money whilst minimising commercial risk.
    • Responsible for accurate cash flow profiling, income and project outturn in line with the company’s expectation. Including monthly CVR reporting
    • Ensure detailed and accurate cost and value forecasting and cost allocation to deliver cost certainty in line with the company and client requirements.
    • Support the estimating team in quantifying scope, costing works, identifying and quantifying risk and opportunity as well as providing contractual review during project tender stages. Monitor the register and any related documentation in accordance with the plan.
    • Ultimate responsibility for all sub-contractor management.  Ensure all sub-contractors and suppliers have submitted compliant quotations/inquiries/applications within the timescale required, and produce all documentation to select and secure services as well as monthly assessments, variations/CE claims and final account agreements through coaching of the Quantity Surveyor
    • Lead the commercial team and all cost, value and contractual aspects of projects at the location to support operations with the objective of safe delivery. Minimise risk, maximize opportunity and avoid disputes.
    • Manage a team and wider divisional resource interface, including involvement in the recruitment, development, and resourcing of the commercial function.
    • Support and input to the divisional work winning and estimating function, and robust delivery of all pre-contract negotiation and settlement requirements
    • Supporting the Divisional Senior Team with input into the strategy, business planning and operational requirements.
    • Support and lead key negotiations with delivery partners and supply chain.
    • Establish and ensure adherence to robust and consistent change control process to ensure that appropriate contract price adjustments are identified and agreed with the client.
    • Actively increase knowledge of commercial issues and contract law, keeping up to date with legislations and current industry trends.
    • Improve value for money through reduction in waste, better efficiency and introduction of innovations.
    • Develop and maintain suitable site cost reporting tools to support financial cost management, in line with the company costing function.
    • Liaison with the Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyor(s) to ensure appropriate commercial cover is maintained.
    • Assist the team and Project Manager, Engineers and Planners with regard to recovery of contract costs together with enhancing project profit by identifying efficiencies, variations, delays and claims.
    • Assist with production of monthly project financial controls, CVR and forecast to complete reports for analysis staff and Commercial and Financial Staff.
    • Develop sound and balanced negotiating skills.
    • Attend when requested handover and progress meetings.
    • Maintain documents and registers, for example variation registers.
    • Undertake monthly reporting for both client and internal ensuring comprehensive variance analysis and positive cash collection

    • Previous experience within a Managing Quantity Surveying role
    • Contract/Tendering experience, capturing site records for variations and valuations;
    • Supporting a project team
    • Strong contractual knowledge and understanding of various forms of contract
    • A degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.  
    • Cost / value reconciliation
    • Full Clean UK Driving license
