You’ll be joining our Highways maintenance team, as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.

What will you be doing?
We are seeking an Environmental Technician to join our expanding team of environmental specialists and work collaboratively with design and operational teams to enable the delivery of essential infrastructure services across the UK.
You will support a diverse range of fieldwork including environmental monitoring, taking samples, logging soils, site walkovers, and ecological surveys.
You will undertake important assessment and classification of waste materials.
You will screen sites to inform the design and delivery teams of key environmental risks, constraints and opportunities.
You will support the production of environmental permits, such as for waste, flood risk, abstraction, and discharge activities to enable on-site delivery.
You will support the development and completion of Materials Management Plans and geoenvironmental desk study reports.
You will provide GIS support and aid completion of carbon and Biodiversity Net Gain assessments.
What you’ll bring
- You must hold a valid UK driving license to be considered for this role.
- You will be willing to travel regularly between home, office, and sites when required, including staying away from home for short periods.
- You will be comfortable working independently in a practical environment.
- You will have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and the expectations through effective communication.
- You will be flexible, maintaining a positive attitude and proactive approach, with willingness to support other areas of the business when required.
- You will have a demonstrable passion for the environment and sustainability.
- You will be accurate and organised.
