You’ll join our in-house Design & Build team, supporting the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure across Scotland.
Our teams work from early optioneering through to construction and handover, ensuring designs are safe, buildable and deliverable in live operational environments. You’ll collaborate closely with construction, MEICA, commercial and operational colleagues, contributing to solutions that reduce risk and improve certainty on site.
Role Summary
This is a hands-on civil engineering role within M Group Water’s in-house Design & Build function.
You’ll be involved in civil engineering activities from early optioneering through to construction, supporting and contributing to the development of practical, buildable and safe designs. This is delivery-focused engineering - where design decisions are informed by construction reality, with responsibility and technical ownership increasing in line with experience.
Roles are available from Assistant through to Principal level, with responsibilities aligned to experience.
What will you be doing?
- Supporting and contributing to civil design development from early options through to construction-ready solutions
- Assisting with practical design decisions that balance risk, cost, programme and buildability
- Working closely with construction teams to support safe, deliverable outcomes
- Contributing to risk reduction through early engagement and informed optioneering
- Supporting projects through technical approvals and into delivery
- Sharing knowledge within the team and, where appropriate, supporting the development of junior engineers
What you’ll bring
- Civil engineering experience within water or infrastructure environments, appropriate to role level
- A practical, delivery-focused mindset with an understanding of buildability
- Confidence to contribute to design discussions, with increasing ownership as experience develops
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Willingness to engage with site teams as required
- A collaborative approach and interest in developing your career over time
