  • Right across infrastructure, there’s a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and reimagine. Whatever stage you’re at in your career, with us you’ll have an opportunity to grow and develop. Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.

    Where will you be working?

As an organisation, there is little we don’t do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom.

The Procurement function is undergoing an exciting transformation journey, deploying best in class processes, ensuring an innovative, reliable and cost-efficient supply chain that can grow with M Group to support delivery of our strategy.

Want to come and be a part of it?

The Procurement function supports the M Group Business by working collaboratively as one procurement group to accelerate sustainable benefits delivery, providing solutions that meet the needs of our businesses and clients, enhanced by technology and scalable for future growth.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement for the division, working closely with Group Procurement and divisional stakeholders, you will identify and execute procurement savings and efficiency opportunities, manage supplier relationships, and lead sourcing activity. You’ll translate business needs into pragmatic procurement plans, embed best practice, drive continuous improvement, and support our ESG commitments.

    What will you be doing?

This role focuses on identifying, prioritising, and delivering procurement savings from initial assessment through to full benefit realisation.

You’ll lead sourcing and negotiation activities, ensuring strong commercial terms, cost savings, and reliable service levels.

Part of the role includes preparing ITT documents, supporting tender processes, and evaluating competitive supplier proposals.

You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business, building strong relationships and guiding cross‑functional teams to deliver value.

Monitoring supplier performance and managing renewals, uplifts, contracts, and key supply‑chain partnerships will be a core part of your day‑to‑day work.

You’ll champion efficient, compliant procurement processes—supporting Group initiatives, driving sustainability, and ensuring a smooth handover to operational teams after contract award.

    What you’ll bring

    • 5+ years’ procurement experience with proven savings delivery.
    • 2+ years’ people management.
    • Strong background in sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
    • Confident stakeholder influencer up to senior/executive level.
    • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
    • Solid understanding of the full procurement lifecycle and commercial risk.
    • Hands‑on experience working with operational procurement and cross‑functional teams.
    • Skilled in developing and implementing processes and procedures.
    • Able to work independently and collaboratively.

    Desirable

    • Professional procurement qualification (e.g., MCIPS).
    • Experience with ERP integrations such as SAP or Oracle.
    • Degree‑level education.
    • Experience embedding sustainability/ESG into procurement.
    • Background in project‑based or design/engineering‑led environments.

    What’s in it for you?

    We offer a range of benefits designed to support your life in and out of work, some of which include;

    • Matched or contributory pension scheme
    • Online GP service, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

    • Life assurance
    • Cycle to work, salary finance and give as you earn schemes
    • Enhanced maternity, paternity leave and adoption leave
    • Reward and recognition scheme

    In addition, this role offers;

    • Private health care and health care cash plan for you
    • Company Car or Car Allowance
    • Discretionary bonus scheme
    • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
