    Where will you be working?

    At M Group Telecom, we’re enabling and enhancing telecom networks, playing a lead role in the delivery of our tech enabled future.

    We deliver full network cycle services for fixed, private and mobile operators.

    This role will be within our Fixed networks team, you’ll join our people who support providing turnkey solutions for the surveying, designing, building and commissioning new networks, while supporting the repair, maintenance and operation of existing networks.

    Project Gigabit is Openreach’s flagship initiative, delivering ultrafast, reliable full fibre broadband to hard-to-reach homes and businesses nationwide. As part of the UK’s digital acceleration strategy, Project Gigabit puts Openreach and you at the forefront of future-proof infrastructure development. As Survey Lead, you will help deliver one of the UK’s most ambitious fibre programmes.

    What will you be doing?

    We’re seeking candidates with experience in fibre networks and surveying. You’ll cover Northwest England, planning fibre cable routes, ensuring safety and accuracy, and holding, as a minimum, S11, S13, S017, S018, S020, and S021 accreditations (essential for working with Openreach). Most days will be spent on-site, analysing maps, assessing routes, identifying challenges, and providing solutions. You’ll collaborate across teams to ensure the seamless delivery of projects.

    Competence with tablets/laptops and the ability to read technical plans and drawings is vital; training and support will be provided. You’ll follow rigorous safety practices, helping create a safe environment for all. This is a fixed-term role, with a company van and necessary tools provided. Some travel and overnight stays may be required.

    If you have fibre surveying experience and the relevant accreditations, we want to hear from you—especially if you take pride in your work and are eager to progress.

     

    What you’ll bring;

    You bring strong technical knowledge with hands-on experience in fibre surveying. You understand network infrastructure and can confidently survey routes in varied environments. Relevant certifications such as S011, S013, S017, S018, S020, and S021 are highly valued. A full UK driving licence is essential, as regular travel is part of the role. You take a detail-focused and proactive approach to your work. You work well as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and stakeholders. You are comfortable reading maps and plans and can record survey data accurately and consistently.
