    Where will you be working?

    Our Rail team manages a wide range of specialist rail engineering works and projects delivering civils, track, power, electrical solutions and station structures across all rail routes in the UK.

    What will you be doing?

    The primary purpose of the Site Agent is to oversee and manage civil engineering projects from inception to completion. The Site Agent ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. This role requires effective coordination of all on-site activities, including workforce management, subcontractor supervision, and client liaison.

    • Plan and deliver construction projects, managing resources, timelines, budgets and milestones.
    • Lead on-site teams and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure safe, efficient execution.
    • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, legal and regulatory requirements.
    • Monitor progress through site meetings, inspections and quality controls, resolving issues promptly.
    • Manage financial performance, reporting, forecasting and identifying cost efficiencies.
    • Act as the primary client and stakeholder contact, providing regular updates and managing relationships.
    • Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining accurate project documentation and records.

     

    What you’ll bring

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
    • Proven experience in managing civil engineering projects.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Proficient in project management software and tools.
    • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
    • Collaborative and able to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
    • Experience in MS Project
    • Health & Safety awareness and knowledge
    • Relevant CSCS card
    • SMSTS Accreditation
