    Where will you be working?

    At M Group Energy we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.  

    We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. 

    This role will be within our Transmission & Renewables team. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.

     

    What will you be doing?

    We’re looking for a Project Director to join our Energy Division at M Group on a hybrid basis in Nottingham.

    The Projects comprise of new Over Head Line (OHL) along with reconductoring of existing OHL, Building new and extending existing 400 and 275 kV Substations and installing new underground cables.
    • Creating and managing a Project Delivery Team to deliver all aspects of the designated project.
    • Creating a programme and schedule with agreed milestones and managing against that programme.
    • Creating and agreeing an estimated cost for the delivery of the project and reporting performance against that estimate.
    • Ensuring Safe and Sustainable Delivery of Projects to the highest Industry Standards.
    • Liaising with key stakeholders, partners and National Grid to enable successful delivery of the project.
    • Agreeing and managing against a set of KPIs as appropriate for the project and reporting performance against those KPIs

    What you’ll bring

    •  Extensive experience with OHL (Overhead Lines) / Electrical transmissions
    • You'll know electrical systems, grid connections, and commissioning inside out, with a proven track record of delivering major infrastructure on time and on budget.
    • You'll combine sharp problem-solving with confident decision-making, backed by strong leadership, commercial awareness, and stakeholder management skills.
    • You'll communicate with ease at every level, building trust and collaboration across diverse teams and partners.
