We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. This role will be within our developer services team. Our developer services team connects water and wastewater services, installs lateral drains, and enables new developments access to vital water and wastewater services.

What will you be doing?
As our Operations Manager, you’ll play a key role within the Senior Management Team, taking full ownership of P&L performance, SHEQ compliance, and customer relationships. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of the regional framework, driving operational excellence, upholding the highest safety and quality standards, and ensuring exceptional client satisfaction.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Delivery Team to exceed client expectations, delivering a safe, efficient, and effective programme of work.
- Oversee the safe, high-quality delivery of projects, ensuring all outputs meet or exceed client standards.
- Ensure robust processes and procedures are implemented and consistently followed to achieve right-first-time, defect-free delivery.
- Take accountability for setting and delivering financial budgets while meeting client regulatory and performance targets.
- Monitor, manage, and report on financial, programme, and quality metrics, working collaboratively with the client.
- Build, lead, and develop the Delivery Team through effective training, mentoring, and performance management.
- Foster a culture of zero harm and zero compromise through proactive leadership and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead by example in promoting a positive culture around safety, health, environment, and wellbeing.
- Manage project performance through regular reviews against cost, programme, and quality objectives.
- Proactively engage and manage key regional stakeholders, ensuring strong, effective relationships.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients and their customers to consistently deliver high levels of customer satisfaction on behalf of M Group.
What you’ll bring
- Experience and knowledge of water and in particular metering project.
- Experience of managing multidisciplinary teams in a regulated water environment at a senior level
- Managing teams against milestones and budgets in a safe and profitable way
- Effective communications skills with drive and energy to build and develop a first-class Delivery Team
- Able to manage risk and business management with commercial and business acumen.
