    Where will you be working?

    At M Group Water we help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards.  We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.

    What training will you take and what qualification will the you get at the end?

    The successful candidate will enrol onto the Civil Engineering Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship, with one of our partner Universities. Over 5 years, you will work towards a Level 6 in Civil Engineering.

    As an Estimating Degree Apprentice, you’ll have the opportunity to:  

    • Supporting the collation and organisation of all tender documents and amendments with the bid team.
    • You’ll be assisting with the measurement of quantities for cost plan production, you’ll also help to produce cost plans and estimates for the bidding process. 
    • Learn and assist with the preparation of economic inflation.
    • Reporting work on the production of subcontract enquiries and help to analyse sub-contract and supplier return quotations to maximise our profit on projects.
    • Supporting the Estimator team with the completion of tender summaries, reports and the preparation of tender preliminaries.
    • You will also attend governance and settlement meetings and develop relationships with the supply chain.
    • In addition, we will expect you to visit sites to gain a full appreciation of the scale, scope and risks associated the scheme to be tendered. 
    • Learning how to quantify activities & materials using an industry standard method of measurement.
    • You’ll gain a strong knowledge of materials & specialist subcontractors that operate within the water & civil engineering markets.
    • The opportunity to develop & understand how to put construction programmes together.
    • Learn and gain an understanding of different types of labour & equipment used in the delivery of construction works.
    • Discover about the different types of temporary works used in construction works.
    • Gaining a level of commercial acumen.

    We’d love to hear from you if you have: 

    • 5 GCSEs (grades 9–4 / A*–C) including English, Maths and Science.
    • 2 A-Levels within Engineering or Mathematical Sciences or BTEC Diploma, T-Level, or Higher National Certificate (HNC) or Diploma (HND) in civil engineering, construction, or physical and mathematical sciences.
    • Great communication skills and a willingness to learn
    • A collaborative approach and a drive to make a difference
    • A UK/EU driving licence preferred and willingness to travel
    • The role will involve travel across various areas across the South Region - Wales/Swindon/Bath/Reading/Brighton/London.
