  • Right across infrastructure, there’s a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and reimagine. Whatever stage you’re at in your career, with us you’ll have an opportunity to grow and develop. Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Communications team, supporting a portfolio of Rail and Transport technology projects across London, including work with customers such as TfL and London Underground. This role will focus on the delivery of complex communications technology projects, including systems and infrastructure such as CCTV, screens, network access controllers, and upgrades to session management systems.

This is a hybrid working role, with a requirement to attend the London (Pirin Court, Canning Town) office 1 day per week, and 1 day per month site inspections / safety tours in London.

    What you’ll do:

    • Lead the successful delivery of complex communications projects across rail and transport environments.
    • Take ownership of project financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, reporting, and project Profit and Loss accounts.
    • Manage commercial and contractual activities, including change control, contract administration, and client communications to support additional project revenue where appropriate.
    • Develop, manage, and maintain project plans, mobilisation plans, RAID logs, and supporting project documentation.
    • Lead and coordinate multiple project teams within a matrix environment, liaising with engineering teams to allocate resources and support delivery requirements.
    • Manage customer and stakeholder relationships, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
    • Support project governance activity, including project reviews, monthly reporting, and senior management updates.

    Who you are:

You are an experienced Project Manager with a background in delivering complex projects within a Rail, Telecoms, Utilities, or Communications Technology environment. You will bring strong financial and commercial awareness, with the confidence to manage budgets, own project outcomes, and work closely with customers and internal teams to drive successful delivery.

You are proactive, organised, and confident working in a fast-paced project environment. You can lead through influence, manage competing priorities, and bring structure and clarity to complex delivery activity.

    Key Requirements:

    • Proven Project Management experience delivering complex projects within rail, telecoms, utilities, communications, or a closely related technical environment.
    • Strong financial management experience, including ownership of project budgets, reporting, forecasting, and Profit and Loss performance.
    • Commercial awareness, with experience managing contracts, change control, and customer communications.
    • Experience managing complex customer, stakeholder, and end-user relationships.
    • Working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements, with the ability to complete site inspections and safety tours as required.
    • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to project sites across London.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. This role will require BPSS checks and drug and alcohol testing due to the rail environment. Sponsorship is not available for this role.

    What we offer:

At Telent, we’re committed to creating an inclusive culture where everyone feels valued, supported, and able to thrive. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and encourage diverse perspectives across our teams.

The additional benefits with this role:

    • Car allowance
    • 26 days holiday, plus public holidays, and the option to buy or sell days annually
    • Company pension scheme
    • A range of family friendly policies
    • Occupational health support and wellbeing Portal
    • Discounts on Cinema, Restaurants and Shopping with Telent Reward scheme.

We are guided by our values and behaviours:
