Where will you be working?
We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. This role will be within our Water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

What will you be doing?
As Site Manager, you'll take the lead in delivering projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Acting as the key point of contact on site, you'll oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring all works are completed in line with programme requirements, quality expectations, and health, safety and environmental regulations.
You'll create and maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring teams follow approved RAMS, safe systems of work and company SHEW procedures, while carrying out regular inspections, audits, toolbox talks and site briefings. You'll also support incident and near-miss investigations, driving continuous improvement across site activities.
Working closely with Sub-Agents, Engineers, Supervisors, subcontractors and client representatives, you'll coordinate labour, plant and materials to keep projects progressing efficiently. You'll monitor programme performance, identify and address potential delays, implement recovery actions where required, and proactively resolve buildability and delivery challenges.
Quality will be a key focus of the role, with responsibility for managing inspections, test plans, non-conformances and project documentation to ensure all works meet contractual, technical and regulatory standards. You'll also maintain accurate site records, including diaries, progress updates, inspections, photographs and as-built information.
In collaboration with the Project Manager and Commercial team, you'll provide accurate reporting on progress, risks, variations and resource requirements, ensuring site information supports programme management, cost control, compensation events and payment applications. Throughout every stage of delivery, you'll champion company governance, compliance requirements and best practice, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring
- Do you have a degree/Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline?
- Have you got demonstrable experience leading site operations on construction/infrastructure projects?
- Do you have a strong understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation?
- Have you got proven experience with quality assurance processes and managing non‑conformances?
- Are you someone who has the ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical documents?
- Do you have Programme delivery experience, including monitoring progress and recovery actions?
- Have you got strong communication and leadership skills?
- Do you have good organisational skills, including management of site documentation?
- Have you got Commercial awareness related to progress reporting, variations and change capture? This is desirable.
- Do you hold a CSCS Card, SMSTS qualification, NRSWA accreditation (where applicable to the project)?
- Have you got EUSR Water Hygiene and DOMS?
- Do you hold a Temporary Works Coordinator certification? This is desirable.
- Have you got a valid driving licence?
