    Where will you be working? 

    At M Group Highways, we’re supporting the safe transportation and movement of people across the UK.

    You’ll be joining our Highways maintenance team in Peterborough, as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.

    What you’ll be doing:

    • Are you a leader? You’ll take ownership of a minimum two man gang to carry out work safely in accordance with design drawings and specification, and manage daily material ordering and planning
    • You and Your operations team will carry out various labouring duties including excavation works, laying and levelling of kerbs, slabs and bitumen macadam, drainage and gully installations
    • Are you a confident communicator? You’ll carry out Daily Safety briefings
    • You’ll champion health, safety and wellbeing within the team
    • You’ll be operating small plant and equipment used in highway maintenance, as well as installing traffic management with guidance from the Site Supervisor
    • You’ll be participating in an out of hours emergency call out system covering the Peterborough Highway Services network

    What you’ll bring:

    • You’ll need a clean UK driving license
    • Are you comfortable working outside in all weathers? You’ll need a certain level of physical fitness and willingness to work outside
    • You’ll need good customer care and communication skills when dealing with members of the public
    • Are you looking for paid over time? You may need to work outside of normal hours and weekends
    • You’ll need LGV/HGV Class C or the willingness to obtain this licence during probationary period - emergency standby and winter maintenance are a contractual part of the service we deliver 
    • You’ll need NRSWA & CSCS
