    Where will you be working? 

    At M Group Highways, we’re supporting the safe transportation and movement of people across the UK.

    You’ll be joining our Central Bedfordshire Highways Design team, as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.  

    What you’ll be doing:

    • Do you enjoy leading on projects? You’ll supervise and contribute towards developing the design and delivery of a range of highway improvement and traffic engineering schemes!
    • You’ll work with project managers, commercial and construction teams to deliver these schemes from ‘start to finish’, focusing on budget, quality, safety and environmental objectives!
    • Is stakeholder management one of your strengths? You’ll work with internal and external stakeholders at all stages of scheme development!
    • You’ll ensure that relevant standards are applied in accordance with national & local criteria and sound engineering practice, to deliver appropriate solutions which offer best value.
    • Do you enjoy sharing knowledge? You’ll mentor our trainee and graduate engineers. 

     What you’ll bring:

    • Do you have a track record of delivering highways and transport design projects? You’ll be a great addition to our team of professional engineers!
    • You’ll  be knowledgeable in Design Manual for Roads, Manual For Streets and Bridges/Specification for Highway Works, relating to the design and maintenance of local authority highway and transport schemes.
    • Have you previously worked on active travel projects? You'll need to be experienced in the principles of Local Transport Note 1/20? You’ll need this!
    • Are you a design software expert? You’ll be using and supervising the use of design software such as Autodesk packages Civils 3D (or equivalent) and AutoCAD.
    • Do you have a Degree in Civil Engineering? You’ll need this or Foundation Degree/HNC/HND together with post qualification experience.
    • Are you a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer? You’ll need this or working towards this status!
