    Where will you be working?

    Aviation- Our Aviation team works across a wide range of specialist civil, mechanical and electrical engineering works including major international airports, regional airports and RAF airfields.

    Rail- Our Rail team manages a wide range of specialist rail engineering works and projects delivering civils, track, power, electrical solutions and station structures across all rail routes in the UK.

    Defence and adjacent markets- We manage reactive and planned maintenance and upgrades on defence properties, airfields, military bases, ports, railway infrastructure and depots.

    What will you be doing?

    You will lead the management of project environmental compliance and provide sustainability guidance. Work with external stakeholders like the Environment Agency, Natural England, and Local Authorities to obtain permits, licenses, and consents. Manage company and client strategy reporting within assigned contracts. Collaborate with our Safety, Sustainability, and Wellbeing team to develop initiatives. Support the Social Value Manager in delivering initiatives within contracts.

    Undertake regular site inspections and assist with investigating environmental incidents.  Drive our environmental auditing programme. Ensure sustainability best practices at all times.

    What you’ll bring 
    • Operational environmental support experience in a civil engineering, construction, or safety critical environment - preferably in the rail sector
    • Hold an Environmental degree or similar subject or professional qualification
    • Have 2 years industry experience, including waste, noise nuisance, ecology, working near watercourses and carbon reduction aspects
    • Good understanding of environmental legislation and requirements for environmental permits, licenses and consents.
    • Comfortable working in a site-based environment, alongside desktop work.
    • Hold a membership level within IEMA or similar
    • You must hold a full driving licence and be willing to travel frequently
