Where will you be working?
Aviation- Our Aviation team works across a wide range of specialist civil, mechanical and electrical engineering works including major international airports, regional airports and RAF airfields.
Rail- Our Rail team manages a wide range of specialist rail engineering works and projects delivering civils, track, power, electrical solutions and station structures across all rail routes in the UK.
Defence and adjacent markets- We manage reactive and planned maintenance and upgrades on defence properties, airfields, military bases, ports, railway infrastructure and depots.

What will you be doing?
- Supporting the management of project environmental compliance
- Providing sustainability guidance and support to both the Operations Teams and Senior Management
- Working with external stakeholders, namely the Environment Agency, Natural England and Local Authorities, to obtain environmental permits, licenses and consents for our operations.
- Managing the achievement of company and client strategy and reporting within assigned contracts
- Working within our Safety, Sustainability, and Wellbeing team to develop company initiatives
- Supporting the Social Value Manager to deliver initiatives within the assigned contracts
- Undertaking regular site inspections and assisting with the investigation of environmental incidents
- Participating in our environmental auditing programme
- Ensuring sustainability best practice at all times
What you’ll bring
- It is likely that you will currently be working in a sustainability related role and have operational environmental support experience in a civil engineering, construction, or safety critical environment - preferably in the rail sector
- Hold an Environmental degree or similar subject or professional qualification
- Have 2 years industry experience, including waste, noise nuisance, ecology, working near watercourses and carbon reduction aspects
- Good understanding of environmental legislation and requirements for environmental permits, licenses and consents.
- Comfortable working in a site-based environment, alongside desktop work.
- Hold a membership level within IEMA or similar
- You must hold a full driving licence and be willing to travel frequently
