    You’ll be joining our Highways maintenance team, as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.  

    Devon Highways is a contract secured by M Group in 2017 which will currently operate until 2027. M Group are responsible for delivering a wide range of highways maintenance and improvement projects for Devon on behalf of Devon County Council.

    What will you be doing?

    You'll check the Service Managers Works Ordering system. Monitoring the status of Works Orders to populate the Works Programmes accordingly. 

    You'll use the Annual Plan issued by the Service Manager to monitor, plan work and produce a resourced programme for the financial year as required. 
     
    Whilst undertaking required Programming updates as revised versions of the Annual Plan are issued by the Service Manager. 
     
    We'll ask you to work with the delivery teams and supply chain to create a Works Programme, ensuring that the programmes remain accurate and up-to-date. 
     
    You'll create and continually update all Streetworks (Noticing/Permitting/Licences) information to back the delivery of schemes on the programmes. Coordinating the delivery of works with other network stakeholders where opportunities allow. 
     
    The role will also include, planning, monitoring and reporting on delivery performance using Asta Power Project and Power-BI Reports. Including the running of data reports to drive performance monitoring forward. 
     
    Maximise productivity through effective programming liaising with the relevant QS and AQS. You'll ensure that all of the works are financially controlled to minimise cost and maximise efficiency.  
     
    We'll ask you to escalate any programme delays to the Programme Manager and Area Manager. Ensuring we minimise any issues with the timing or quality of delivery. 

    What you’ll bring

    • Do you have good planning and programme management skills with the ability to build programmes on programming tools?
    • Knowledge and experience of scheduling and permitting processes in line with the Code of Practice for Coordination of Street and Roadworks?
    • NRSWA?
    • Experience in the use of PowerBI including running of required data reports to advocate performance management 
    • Aware of the contemporary issues within highway maintenance would be desirable including knowledge of traffic management layouts defined in the Code of Practice for Streetworks (the Red Book) 
    • Strong relationship building skills  
    • Drive and a high level of energy and enthusiasm for improving performance 
    • Able to work to tight deadlines under pressure, managing and prioritising workload
