Where will you be working?
We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

What will you be doing?
As our ambitious Quantity Surveyor you'll be working on our Thames Water AMP7 Framework in the London Area.
This will involve projects such as Combe Bank, rehabilitating circa 2.43km of steel water main in Sevenoaks involving trenchless Works at the M25 and River Darenth crossings and Coppermills HLPS 54" Pipe Leak Repair to a 54" manifold pipe at the High Lift Pumping Station. Working with our Client on what is a highly sensitive asset to collaboratively plan the necessary Works while maintain service to TW customers.
You'll be responsible for effective procurement and management of subcontractors, from agreement of terms and conditions, risk attribution and scope through to Final Account.
You'll manage and mentor Assistant Quantity Surveyors and other junior members of the team in carrying out the administration of the commercial and financial aspects of the Capital Delivery Frameworks.
You'll have the opportunity to work closely with the operational team. Administering the bespoke Principal Contract containing, among others, elements of NEC and I Chem E.
You'll manage change through the Early Warning and Variation processes with both the Client and subcontractors alike to achieve value and margin maximisation.
You'll produce CVRs, applications for payment and Cost Forecasts.
You'll closely monitor staff, material, plant and other resources on site.
You'll seek out opportunities and challenging practices, planning and approaches where cost savings are identified.
What you’ll bring
- Do you have a BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar qualification?
- Have you gained experience as a Quantity Surveyor, or a similar level within a civil engineering or utilities contractor?
- Are you commercially astute?
