Where will you be working?
Our Rail team manages a wide range of specialist rail engineering works and projects delivering civils, track, power, electrical solutions and station structures across all rail routes in the UK.

What will you be doing?
Responsible for the smooth day to day operations of our Nursling Depot and the storage and movement of Goods In and Out, including all electrical and mechanical components, materials and occupational plant that are used by the operational delivery teams for reactive and project delivery.
Effectively and efficiently manage the movement of materials, plant and PPE both in terms of delivery and returns, demonstrating good administrative practices and communication. Investigating any stock or plant discrepancies to resolution in a timely and well communicated manner. Undertake spot Van checks to fleet entering and leaving the depot. Report any findings to the transport manager.
Accountable for areas of Compliance and Health and Safety related duties such as PPE deliveries and staff issue. Undertake safe and effective correct waste management for the yard in line with ISO 14001 Environmental Management.
What you’ll bring
- Extensive experience working in pre-construction stores environments encompassing operational and fleet supervisory knowledge
- Good knowledge of electrical components, plant, machinery and testing & inspection of the same
- Use a telehandler forklift to load and unload materials.
- Experience handling procurement and liaising with suppliers
- Stock management
- Good administrative skills in conjunction with the duties set out above to include but are not exhaustive of filing, goods receipting and stock level controls
- Good communication skills
- Agile approach to changes in the business
- Comply with GDPR Regulations
- Undertake fleet duties during the interim and maintain the requirements for FORS until transfer to MGS Fleet is complete and support MGS fleet going forwards
- Proficient in the use of IT to fulfil the role
- Focussed on business requirements and be able to work to tight deadlines
