Where will you be working?
We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.
This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.
What will you be doing?
You'll regularly review and update SHE policies, procedures, and guidance documents in line with legislation, best practice, and industry developments.
You'll develop, maintain, and oversee the company’s integrated management system (IMS) covering health, safety, environment, and quality.
We'll need you to track audit and investigation outcomes, monitor corrective actions, and ensure close-out across the business.
You'll lead the selection, implementation, and continual improvement of digital tools for reporting, inspections, incident management, and performance monitoring.
You'll ensure SHE Managers and operational leaders have effective templates, dashboards, and management information and that data integrity and accuracy in all reporting systems that support the SHE Director's role.
You'll work closely with Zonal Leads, Heads of H&S, and Managers to ensure governance processes support operational delivery.
We'll need you to engage with clients, accreditation bodies, and certification providers to maintain trust and assurance against their deliverables.
You'll lead the roll-out of business improvement initiatives linked to compliance, risk, and assurance.
What you’ll bring

- Do you have an understanding of our workstreams and the ability to routinely visit them?
- Are you a strong communicator and collaborator, able to influence both board and site?
- Do you have high ethical standards and digitally literate?
- Are you a structured thinker, able to simplify complex systems into practical tools?
- You'll be detail-focused, with a strong governance and risk management mindset.
- Do you hold a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (or significant experience in governance/assurance at senior level)?
- Do you have proven experience developing and maintaining integrated management systems?
- Do you have experience with digital HSE platforms and data analytics?
