As an organisation, there is little we don’t do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom.

What will you be doing?
The Infrastructure Manager will ensure the delivery of high-performing, secure, and scalable IT infrastructure and services to support a dynamic organisation with 30,000 IT users operating across 200 offices. With annual revenues of £3.7 billion, the business operates in a complex environment due to the scale and speed of acquisitions. This role is critical in driving IT consolidation, minimising technical debt, and enabling operational excellence.
The position also serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, including the IT Managed Service Director, CIO, CTO, and CISO, ensuring alignment of IT strategies with organisational goals while maintaining effective collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.
What you’ll bring:
Key Attributes and Skills
- Proven track record in senior IT leadership roles managing infrastructure and operations for large-scale organisations.
- Expertise in simplifying and consolidating complex IT environments while ensuring scalability.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker capable of balancing long-term goals with immediate priorities.
- Deep knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies, including cloud computing, networking, storage, and security.
- Experience integrating IT systems during mergers and acquisitions.
- Strong understanding of IT frameworks such as ITIL and COBIT.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Extensive experience managing IT infrastructure and operations for complex organisations.
- Demonstrable success delivering large-scale transformation projects.
- Knowledge of IT governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience in fast-paced environments characterised by frequent acquisitions is highly desirable.
