    Where will you be working?


    BGEN is one of the UK's largest multidisciplinary design and build contractors with over 100 years of industry experience. We support clients in the Water, Power & Energy, Pharmaceutical, Nuclear and Food and Beverage industries to deliver next generation, value-added engineering solutions.
     
    This role can be based in our Warrington office or Cambridge. 

    What will you be doing?  
     
    • Lead the Tender Process: Manage receipt and initial review of all contract tender documentation, ensuring scope and content are clear.
    •  Drive Department Success: Maintain a balanced programme and workload for the Estimating Department, optimising skills and resources.
    • Ensure Quality & Timeliness: Oversee preparation of estimates, advise engineers, and guarantee complete, timely tender submissions.
    • Assess Commercial Risk: Work closely with the Group Commercial Director to evaluate risks on proposals.
    • Develop & Motivate Teams: Lead communication, support staff development, and performance manage both permanent and contract employees.
    • Collaborate & Represent: Assist in tender presentations, attend site visits, and ensure compliance with approval processes.
     
    What you'll bring:
     
    • Qualifications: Degree or higher BTEC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
    • Experience: Proven track record in bid management and estimating within complex industries.
    • Ability to assess User Requirements, Scope, Specifications, and Design for accurate estimation.
    • Strong knowledge of contractual arrangements and estimating practices.
    • Analytical mindset combined with practical problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with all divisions and clients.
    • Exceptional organisational skills to thrive under tight deadlines.
