Where will you be working?
As an organisation, there is little we don’t do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom.
This role is in our Plant & Fleet department, our Plant & Fleet supports teams across our business with their vehicle, plant and specialist equipment needs, offering hire solutions that are commercially effective, reliable, safe and compliant.

What will you be doing?
In this role, you’ll support the Finance team by analysing day‑to‑day financial data and turning it into simple, useful insights. You’ll work with transactions such as operating leases and rechargeable work, using your Excel skills to present information clearly and keep financial records accurate.
Each month, you’ll help deliver the management accounts. This includes preparing journals, completing balance sheet reconciliations, updating month‑end schedules and supporting variance explanations so the business understands key movements.
You’ll also be involved in budgeting, forecasting and year‑end tasks. You’ll support the team with planning cycles and help with audit preparation, giving you exposure to how financial decisions and controls work across the business.
You’ll work closely with colleagues across Finance and with Plant & Fleet Operational teams to ensure accurate data and smooth processes. You’ll also look for ways to simplify reporting and improve how the team works.
What you’ll bring
- Experience working in a Finance or Accounting role.
- Strong Excel skills for summarising and presenting financial information.
- Good analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- Able to explain financial information in a simple, clear way.
- Organised, proactive and able to work to deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Advanced knowledge of finance systems
