    Where you’ll be working?

    We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards.  We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.

    This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

    What you'll be doing?

     You'll will be responsible for planning, permitting, and issuing notices for external dig work across the London and Thames Valley region as part of the smart metering contract. You will ensure all works comply with the Traffic Management Act 2004 (TMA) and New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA), collaborating closely with Customer, Operations, and Street Works teams to deliver work to the highest standard under SLA guidelines.

    You'll maintain a thorough understanding of the NRSWA and TMA to ensure compliant permitting of all works, possessing practical knowledge of their key sections (58, 61, 73, 74) and Red Book requirements.
     
    We'll need you to monitor and respond to permit updates, including PMRs & AIVs, and manage the coordination of third parties such as those required for parking and bus stop suspensions, road closures, and temporary traffic regulation orders.
     
    You'll review and assess traffic management drawings and requirements, including parking bay suspensions, lane rental, bus stop switch-outs, and TTROs.
     
    Other duties will also be required as part of the role. 

     What you'll bring?

    • Have you got a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a streetworks or utilities environment?
    • Are you proficient with the use of Street Manager system?
    • Do you have sound knowledge of streetworks and traffic management requirements?
    • Have you got proven experience in planning and scheduling within a similar environment?
    • Do you have strong problem‑analysis and investigative abilities?
    • Can you build effective working relationships with third parties and stakeholders?
    • Are you able to manage complex enquiries and apply specialist knowledge?
    • Do you have familiarity with Line Search or utility packs?
