    Where will you be working?

    We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards.  We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.

    This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.  

    What will you be doing?

    As a Framework Manager you will oversee the Thames Water Capital Delivery projects within the specified Contract Lots awarded in the Thames Valley region and be responsible for the successful delivery of Design and Build projects, on time and to budget. Reporting to the Contracts Director, you will have overall control and accountability for the delivery of all work within your section. In addition, you will be actively involved in securing new work on both Lots 7 and 2 and identifying any growth opportunities within your region. You will use leadership skills to manage and mentor your Project Managers and Site teams to build high performing teams to deliver their projects and to develop them as individuals. You will be able to communicate at all levels within the organisation to build relationships with our Clients and Supply Chain which support M Group Values and behaviours. You will also be responsible for the identification and management of all project risks including Health, Safety, Wellbeing, Environment, Quality, Commercial and Programme to achieve Client and Company performance targets.

    Your responsibilities as the Framework Manager will include:

    • Have a hands-on approach from tender, design development, construction and handover of projects at completion.
    • Proactively manage staffing levels to deliver the volumes work
    • Ensure that all engineering construction work under your control complies with all relevant construction statutory instruments in accordance with the Thames Water standards
    • Support a strategy that translates into a strong and innovative delivery of high-quality project works in a highly governed and challenging industry.
    • Ensure that projects are set up and managed effectively complying with Client, M Group and Statutory standards.
    • Ensure that a detailed project plan is in place for each project to track progress with regular updates to the Contracts Director.
    • Provide annual turnover and contribution budget profiles
    • Act as bid lead for tenders, providing fully developed project proposals to deliver on the Project Briefs and prepare governance packs and take projects through internal governance and present to senior management and board members.
    • Responsible for ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget whilst maintaining highest level of customer and client service at all time.
    • Full commercial and programme responsibility for Framework
    • Ensure that we expand and maintain our WIRS credentials to cover the full spread of the work that we are likely to encounter
    • Assess and assure all Design and Pre-construction proposals for technical compliance prior to submission for approval.
    • Ensure that commercial and programme submissions are to the right quality and are submitted on time to obtain the maximum return
    • Ensure that profitability is good and that cash flow is maximised
    • To carry out all duties in accordance with M Group and Client requirements for Health, Safety and Welfare with due regard to Health & Safety Legislation and policy.
    • Undertake leadership safety engagement tours and Thames water SHE audits to ensure we are embedding zero compromise safety culture
    • Engage and oversee the management of all Supply Chain requirements necessary to meet the delivery of the projects.
    • Understand and manage key Stakeholders in the region through proactive engagement with Customer team.
    • Engage with the Client to ensure we are meeting their expectations and delivering on their customer promises to improve our customer advocacy

    Skills and Knowledge Requirements:

    • Experience as a Framework Manager of delivering multi-million pound utility projects for Utility Companies or similar including on a Design and Build basis
    • Experience and good contractual understanding of working to NEC4 Options A, C and E and IChemE Burgundy Book
    • Able to develop programmes to NEC standards and familiar with Primavera P6
    • Experience of working on similar highly technical Major Capital Projects in a Design & Build capacity
    • HND or Degree level equivalent in an Engineering or Project Management Occupation
    • SMSTS, CSCS Certification are essential
    • Holding a valid UK driving licence is essential
    • Member of chartered institute or equivalent is desirable
    • Leadership skills and experience of managing teams
    • Negotiation skills
    • Presentation skills
