We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.
This role will be working in our Distribution and connections team. As one of the largest Independent Connection Providers (ICP’s) in the UK, we support distribution network operations across infrastructure.
Our team installs and maintains distribution networks and ensures reliable connections for customers. carrying out electrical planned work, customer connections and network reinforcement.
This role is part of UKPN's Substation Build Team, delivering across the 11kV to 132kV network on projects across the East of England.
We’re looking for a Foreman who prefers being on the tools rather than stuck in an office. If you enjoy getting hands‑on while guiding the team and keeping things running safely and smoothly, you’ll fit right in.
What will you be doing?
- Leading from the front - around 80% on the tools, 20% supervising
- Acting as Site Person in Charge when needed
- Completing daily risk assessments and site inductions
- Making sure RAMS and all site documentation are accurate and available
- Briefing and supporting site staff to ensure safe, quality work
- Working with the Site Manager to plan labour, tools, plant and materials
- Checking work quality and keeping tasks snag‑free
- Ensuring staff are competent, fully utilised and aware of site timelines
- Helping keep the site safe, organised and progressing without disruption
What you'll bring?
- SSSTS qualification
- Construction and electricity industry experience
- Competency working in substations up to 132kV
- Good understanding of HSE legislation
- Confident using Outlook, Word and Excel
- Full, valid driving licence
- A practical, positive approach and the ability to motivate a team
