  • Right across infrastructure, there’s a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and reimagine. Whatever stage you’re at in your career, with us you’ll have an opportunity to grow and develop. Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a  friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.

    Where you’ll be working?

We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards.  We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.

This role will be within our Water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

    What you'll be doing?

You'll be responsible for identifying and validating the presence of lead service pipes and associated high‑risk assets within the public and private realm. The role requires strong utilities knowledge, accurate interpretation of statutory utility records (STATS), and field‑based inspection to support compliance, asset management, and risk mitigation programmes.

You'll carry out on‑site inspections to determine the material of underground and above‑ground water services, with a focus on identifying lead pipes and interpret and accurately read STATS plans, historic utility records, as‑built drawings, and GIS data.

We'll need you to identify, prioritise, and record high‑risk assets based on asset condition, material, location, and customer risk profiles along with using approved validation methods (e.g. visual inspection, scratch tests where permitted, record‑based validation, internal inspections)

    What you’ll bring
    • Do you have proven experience working in utilities, water networks, asset validation, surveying, or a related field?
    • Are you able to demonstrate your experience reading and interpreting STATS and underground utility records?
    • Do you have a strong understanding of underground services, service layouts, and asset risk classification?
    • Have you got good IT skills, including the use of mobile data capture systems and basic GIS platforms?
    • Do you have a strong attention to detail with accurate record‑keeping and reporting?
    • Are you a confident communicator with a professional approach when engaging with customers and stakeholders?
    • Do you have the ability to work independently and manage field‑based workloads effectively?
Due to the nature of this role you'll need to hold a valid UK driving licence as we will need you to have the willingness and ability to carry out site‑based inspections in varied areas around London and Greater London.

    What’s in it for you?
