    Where will you be working?  

    At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.   
    We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.  

    This role will be within our Metering team. You’ll join the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, we provide efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity and water meters.   
    Our meter readers install, maintain and manage meters to make sure customers are billed correctly and energy usage patterns are monitored.

    What will you be doing?

    As a Technical Auditor, you’ll be out in the field, using your hands-on experience as a Dual Fuel Engineer to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality are maintained. You will be covering South London are surrounding areas.

    This is a varied role where you’ll combine technical expertise with coaching and continuous improvement. You’ll be:

    • Carrying out technical audits and quality checks on dual fuel installations
    • Producing clear, accurate reports to support operational improvements
    • Coaching and mentoring engineers to improve performance and standards
    • Acting as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance to operational teams
    • Supporting internal competency assessments and ensuring consistency across the business
    • Assisting with accident and incident investigations, reinforcing a strong safety culture
    • Supporting external audit requirements (MOCOPA, NICEIC, Gas Safe)
    • Contributing to process improvements and technical best practice
    • Supporting resolution of complex technical queries in the field

    What you’ll bring 

    This role is ideal for someone ready to step off the tools while still using their technical expertise to make a wider impact. You’ll need:

    • Proven experience as a Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer (gas and electric) – this is essential
    • Strong knowledge of metering installation standards and compliance requirements
    • The ability to coach, support and develop other engineers
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • A proactive, organised approach with the ability to work independently
    • Full UK driving licence

    If you have the below qualifications and skills, great, but you don’t need them to apply; 
    • Medium pressure or 3-phase qualifications
    • Previous experience supporting audits or compliance processes
