  • Right across infrastructure, there’s a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and reimagine. Whatever stage you’re at in your career; with us you’ll have an opportunity to grow and develop. Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.

    Where will you be working?

At M Group Telecom, we’re enabling and enhancing telecom networks, playing a lead role in the delivery of our tech enabled future.

We deliver full network cycle services for fixed, private and mobile operators.

Private networks- We find the best technology, manage assets and refresh systems. With 24/7 network operations, we keep things running smoothly, while operating comprehensive network repair and maintenance to keep everything in top shape.

Want to come and be a part of it?

We’re looking for a skilled VESDA Field Engineer to join our growing team, supporting critical environments where reliability simply can’t be compromised. In this mobile role, you’ll take ownership of maintaining and optimising aspirating smoke detection systems across a diverse portfolio of sites — from data centres to telecoms and key infrastructure.

You’ll be travelling across the Greater London area, so flexibility and a willingness to be on the road are essential. In return, we’ll give you the tools, support, and autonomy to do what you do best — keeping systems compliant, operational, and performing at their peak.

    What will you be doing?

You’ll carry out planned preventative maintenance on a range of VESDA systems, including VESDA-E, VLF, VLP, and VLC, ensuring they remain fully compliant and operating effectively. When faults arise, you’ll diagnose and resolve them efficiently, working across aspirating smoke detection systems and associated infrastructure. This will involve testing, calibrating, and adjusting system sensitivity in line with manufacturer guidelines and BS 5839 standards. You’ll respond to reactive callouts within agreed SLAs, troubleshooting issues such as airflow faults, detector failures, pipework integrity, and networked system challenges, and replacing components where needed to restore full functionality. Alongside your technical work, you’ll complete accurate service reports, maintain asset records, and ensure all documentation meets compliance requirements. You’ll also act as a trusted technical representative on site, building strong relationships with customers, offering advice on system performance, and supporting audits and continuous improvement, all while working safely and adhering to SHEQ policies and procedures.

    What You’ll Bring

    • You’ll have proven experience working with VESDA / aspirating smoke detection systems
    • You’ll be confident in fault-finding, diagnostics, and resolving complex technical issues
    • You’ll have a strong understanding of fire safety standards such as BS 5839 and EN 54-20
    • You’ll bring experience working in critical environments such as data centres, telecoms, or utilities
    • You’ll be comfortable travelling across the North West and Midlands as part of a mobile role
    • You’ll hold a full UK driving licence, as travel between sites is essential
    • You’ll be highly organised, with a focus on accuracy and compliance in everything you do
    • You’ll have excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with customers on site
    • You’ll be comfortable working independently while staying connected with wider engineering and service teams

It’s a bonus if you also have:

    • Manufacturer certification (e.g., Xtralis VESDA)
    • FIA qualifications or similar fire safety certifications
    • Experience with networked fire systems or remote monitoring platforms
    • ECS/CSCS, IPAF, PASMA, or First Aid certifications

    What’s in it for you?

We offer a range of benefits designed to support your life in and out of work, some of which include.
