  • Right across infrastructure, there’s a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and reimagine. Whatever stage you’re at in your career, with us you’ll have an opportunity to grow and develop. Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.

Reporting to the Procurement Business Partner, the Senior Procurement Manager will play a key role in shaping and delivering procurement strategy across major Rail Projects. You’ll lead strategic categories including rail equipment and outsourced labour services, managing significant annual spend of up to £25 million and ensuring we achieve the best possible value, quality and commercial outcomes.

This is a hybrid role, with occasional travel to our Warwick HQ and UK-based supplier sites, giving you the opportunity to build strong relationships across both internal teams and our supply chain.

    What you’ll do

    • Lead end-to-end RFx and strategic sourcing activities, from market engagement and tendering through to negotiation and contract award across high-value, complex categories.
    • Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing, inclusive procurement team, with a strong focus on organisational capability, talent development and Learning & Development.
    • Drive effective supplier onboarding and evaluation, ensuring iProcurement category code management is aligned with our wider Category Strategy.
    • Own supplier performance and relationship management throughout the contract lifecycle, identifying opportunities, managing risks and developing effective mitigation strategies.
    • Maintain and manage the Approved Supplier List (ASL), overseeing supplier onboarding, assessment and ongoing compliance.
    • Manage RFx activity across both bid tenders and project procurement, including the preparation and issue of NDAs.
    • Support supplier audits and help shape meaningful social value contributions across the supply chain.
    • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, suppliers and project teams to ensure procurement is embedded as a strategic partner to the business.

    Who you are

You’re an experienced and commercially focused procurement leader who thrives in complex, project-driven environments. You understand how to manage strategic spend, develop supplier partnerships and lead teams to deliver outstanding procurement outcomes.

Ideally, you’ll bring experience from the rail or construction sector, with a strong understanding of the commercial and operational demands of major projects.

    Key requirements

    • Proven experience in a Senior Procurement role, ideally within the rail, construction or wider infrastructure sector.
    • Strong understanding and practical experience of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
    • Experience managing both product and service categories.
    • Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate high-performing teams.
    • Excellent negotiation and commercial management skills, with the confidence to influence outcomes.
    • Exceptional interpersonal and senior stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence at all levels.
    • Degree or equivalent qualification in an appropriate discipline.
    • MCIPS (Chartered) or equivalent professional procurement qualification is desirable.
