    Where will you be working?

    At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.

    We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.

    This role is within our Electricity Transmission division. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.

    What will you be doing

    • Develop and maintain Project Quality Plans aligned with ISO 9001 and client requirements.
    • Create and manage Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, test packs, and quality assurance processes.
    • Ensure traceability of materials, equipment, and works throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Review design deliverables for compliance, constructability, and adoption requirements.
    • Manage document control, verification, validation, and change management processes.
    • Audit and qualify suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring quality requirements are met across the supply chain.
    • Oversee FAT/SAT activities, material certification, supplier surveillance, and quality records.
    • Conduct inspections across civil, electrical, and mechanical works to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
    • Verify material traceability, testing records, calibration control, and as-built documentation.
    • Witness commissioning and acceptance testing, ensuring complete and approved quality records.
    • Manage NCRs, concessions, and deviations, leading root cause analysis and corrective actions.
    • Conduct internal, supplier, and site audits and support client and third-party audits.
    • Monitor quality KPIs, provide reporting, and support project handover and adoption activities.
    • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, BS EN/IEC standards, and relevant industry regulations.
    • Maintain electronic document management systems and digital quality assurance tools.
    • Produce and manage project handover quality documentation.
    • Liaise with clients, suppliers, manufacturers, and site teams to promote quality excellence.
    • Travel nationally and internationally (approximately 30-40%) for supplier audits, FAT/SAT activities, and site inspections.

    What you’ll bring 
    • Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
    • Proven QA/QC experience within power transmission and distribution, substations, overhead lines, or cable projects.
    • ISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualification (Lead Auditor desirable).
    • Experience with ITPs, FAT/SAT, quality assurance processes, and handover documentation.
    • Knowledge of relevant BS EN/IEC standards and UK utility adoption requirements.
    • Proficient in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and digital QA systems.
    • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
  • Experience working with DNOs, transmission operators, or utility infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of ESQCR, CDM 2015, and electrical safety requirements.
  • Power BI or quality reporting/visualisation experience.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., ECS, CSCS, EUSR).
