Reporting into the Sales Director for the Rail division at Telent (part of M Group), we are looking for a Bid Manager will deliver compelling written and financial submissions for medium-value projects within our Rail division. You will manage the full bid process in line with Telent’s governance, oversee cost modelling and reviews, and ensure timely, high-quality submissions.
This Bid Manager role is a hybrid working role, with a requirement to be present at our Warwick HQ (CV34 5AH) at least one to two days per month.
What you'll do:
- Work closely with the Sales team, Subject Matter Experts and Technical and Commercial leads within Telent to develop compelling written and financial responses.
- Deliver efficient end-to-end management and production of timely, high-quality and ultimately successful bids and proposals in keeping with Telent’s bid procedures.
- Lead and develop bid-winning strategies in partnership with opportunity owners and business heads.
- Produce material from Go/No Go stage through to deal review, bid submission and win/loss reviews.
- Lead and challenge internal stakeholders to ensure bid inputs are delivered on time and to the required quality standards.
- Provide post-bid submission support including preparation of bid presentations.
- Support workload planning, bid forecasting, cost tracking, reporting and continual improvement activities.
Who you are:
You are an experienced Bid Manager with proven success leading end-to-end bids within rail, telecommunications, utilities, public sector, critical national infrastructure or similar complex industries. Skilled at coordinating subject matter experts and commercial teams, you bring strong cost modelling experience and a sharp eye for compliance and governance.
Key Requirements:
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Financially astute with the ability to create and interpret financial reports and models.
- Demonstrable experience of winning as part of a high-performing and efficient bid team.
- Proven experience of leading and delivering high and medium-value bids, ideally in a services or solutions environment.
- Strong understanding of bid governance processes, approvals and review frameworks.
- Proven ability to influence, challenge and coordinate stakeholders across engineering, delivery, finance and commercial functions.
- A proven ability to write and review tender responses to a winning standard.
