At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.
We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.
This role will be within our Metering team, you’ll join the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, we provide efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity and water meters.
Our meter readers install, maintain and manage meters to make sure customers are billed correctly and energy usage patterns are monitored.

What will you be doing?
You’ll investigate, detect, and prevent gas and electricity theft in residential and commercial properties. You’ll be responsible for making sure installations are made safe and will work with the supplier to agree what further action is to be taken. You'll collect evidence and provide information to the client to decide next steps.
You’ll be involved in debt recovery work; this may include carrying out metering tasks such as installing a SMART meter or de-energising/disconnecting the supply.
Do you take pride in your customer service skills? As a Revenue Protection Officers you’ll be proud of your work and demonstrate professionalism and integrity. You’ll also have the ability to remain calm and professional and confronting situations.
Do you want career progression? Previous experience as a Revenue Protection Officer or in conflict management would be useful but not essential in this role ; all you’ll need is a positive, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset. Are you joining on a non-technical or single fuel basis? You’ll also be upskilled by the company to become a qualified dual fuel engineer! You’ll get full training on revenue protection and conflict management.
What you’ll bring
- Valid UK driving licence- You must have a full Uk licence and have less that 6 points.
- Strong customer service background with the ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

Salary:
- Non-technical £26,984 per annum
- Single fuel - £38,453 per annum for full time roles (if based within the M25)
- Single fuel (3 phase/CT) £40,492 per annum for full time roles (if based within the M25)
. Candidates joining on a non-technical and single fuel basis will be required to upskill to dual fuel, upskill training will be provided by the company. The salaries stated above apply during the initial training period, and upon full qualification at the dual fuel level, will increase to £44,126 (if inside the M25) as outlined below.
- Dual Fuel - £44,126 plus £2k attendance and safety bonus per annum for full time roles (if based inside the M25*)
- Dual Fuel (3 phase/CT) - £45,177 plus £2k attendance and safety bonus per annum for full time roles (if based inside the M25*)
