Where will you be working?
As an organisation, there is little we don’t do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom.
This role is in our Finance department, our finance team is responsible for the financial management of our Group. This includes financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

What will you be doing?
Reporting to the Head of Financial Control, you will lead financial accounting and control activities in close collaboration with Group Finance. You will manage a small team and ensure strong financial governance, with responsibility for balance sheet integrity, accurate cashflow forecasting, and serving as the main point of contact for audit and tax. The role includes ownership of month-end and entity-level reporting, covering reconciliations, journal entries, and intercompany recharges, all delivered in line with Group deadlines.
You will also support the integration of acquisitions, contribute to finance-related Oracle projects, and help transition finance activities to Shared Services. A key focus will be on improving processes, enhancing financial insight, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring compliance with Group standards. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings a strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring
- Qualified Accountant
- Previous Financial Control Experience
- Able to be hands on and to get into the detail.
- Has improved / accelerated reporting timelines and enhanced reporting depth for Group / PE owned businesses within short timescales.
- System Implementation ERP/Oracle experience beneficial.
- Exposure to multi-faceted / field force organisations, ideally with infrastructure / construction industry experience or similar.
- Track record of quickly building strong relationships across business.
