Where will you be working?
We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to jump into some great projects with UK Power Networks. You’ll be helping us build and refurbish 11kV, 33kV, and 132kV substations all over the East of England.
What You’ll Be Doing?
- Putting together and managing budgets, cost plans, and cash flows.
- Analysing costs and carrying out risk assessments.
- Helping out with procurement, tendering, and picking the right subcontractors.
- Creating BOQs, estimates, and valuations.
- Keeping an eye on spend and finding smart ways to save.
- Working closely with clients, contractors, and consultants to sort out any commercial issues.
- Handling variations, claims, and final accounts with confidence.
- Reporting clearly and regularly to senior management.
- Making sure everything’s above board with contracts, policies, and regulations.
- Supporting the ops team to keep things on budget and on track.
What You’ll Bring
- A degree in Quantity Surveying (or something similar), or some solid experience in a similar role.
- Experience with NEC3/4 and other standard contracts (JCT, FIDIC).
- Strong Excel skills (and if you know Oracle, even better).
- Great communication and negotiation skills.
- A good eye for detail and a head for numbers.
- The ability to work solo or as part of a team.
- A full UK driving licence.
