Where will you be working?
We are currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS) to join our dynamic MEICA team in the South of England. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative and growing business, contributing to the successful delivery of critical infrastructure projects across the UK.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be instrumental in steering the commercial success of projects by advising project teams, managing financial risks, and ensuring contractual and procedural compliance. Your expertise will guide critical decision-making while helping to maximise profitability and maintain alignment with business goals and client expectations.
What will you be doing?
You'll support the project teams by driving financial performance and ensuring commercial compliance. Key responsibilities include preparing CVRs, managing change processes, and conducting risk assessments to protect profitability. The role involves negotiating aged WIP with clients, overseeing subcontractor procurement, and ensuring adherence to governance frameworks. Acting as an escalation point for commercial events, the role also supports contract changes, adjudications, and tender reviews. Collaboration with operations and stakeholders is essential to capture cost-impacting developments and maintain contract integrity. The position contributes to budget forecasting and margin improvement to maximise project success.
Additionally, a key element of the role is to forge a strong relationship with your client counterparts, to ensure the commercial functions are jointly managed with relevant challenge when required, whilst ensuring compliance with M Group policies, procedures and principles.
What you’ll bring
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with experience in cost management, contract administration, and change control.
- Detailed knowledge, understanding and previous experience of NEC and IChemE contracts
- Knowledge of work activities undertaken - Administrative and Operational.
- Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CIOB) – beneficial
- Relevant Hons Degree level qualification or equivalent.
