    You’ll be joining our Civils projects team - We deliver specialist civil engineering for the private and public sectors across the UK, building strong relationships based on a collaborative approach.

    What will you be doing?

    You'll be leading associated site team including M Group Highways supervision and subcontractors to successful completion of works.

    Monitoring site activities against target programmes reporting exceptions in outputs and delays.

    We'll ask you to complete all activities with diligence and energy to maximise the time spent on site planning and supervising works.

    You'll ensure adequate records are maintained through site photographs, daily diaries and as built drawings.

    Monitor all works activities to ensure they meet the Works Specification and are being delivered in a safe manner.

    You'll attend client meetings to provide them with a delivery update and manage any adverse issues and write and maintain the contract programme. 

    You'll maintain communications with clients and subcontractors including but not limited to Early Warnings, and instructions. Attending regular client meetings.

    Assisting in the tendering of works including evaluation and selection of sub-contract packages.

    Liaise with commercial team, designers and site teams to manage changes identified on site.

    Compliance with M Group Highways and PCC, H&S, Quality and Environmental, reporting and performance requirements.

    Able to supervise night operations when required and provide a report to the Site Agent and Project Manager at the end of the shift.

    We'll ask you to ensure adequate records are maintained through photographs, site diaries and as built drawings.

    Carry out a public facing communication role on the project which includes attending Public Liaison meetings, communication with and keeping a log of public communications, interfacing with the Client customer liaison team.

    What you’ll bring

    • Possession of SMSTS
    • CSCS (supervisor card)
    • Driving licence
    • Demonstrable experience of supervising Highway improvement and public realm work
    • A good level of experience in civil engineering and workforce supervision including earthworks; drainage, structures, and Highways
    • A good level of commercial acumen to facilitate cost control
    • Effective team management, leadership and influencing skills to get the best from everyone
    • Excellent customer skills
    • The ability to drive excellent relationships with contacts at all levels including the client and colleagues
    • The ability to remain flexible in your approach to the role whilst embracing change and helping to drive that change through
    • Experience of working on NEC3 contracts including the mechanisms for notifications
    • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written – to ensure clarity in all situations and to effectively influence client decision making
