Where will you be working?
At M Group Highways, we’re supporting the safe transportation and movement of people across the UK.

You’ll be joining our Highways maintenance team based out of our Totton & Bishops Waltham Depots. As the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.

What will you be doing?
You will provide flexible support across subcontracted services and depot delivery.
Do you enjoy leading operatives and subcontractors, setting clear objectives and delivering toolbox talks and safety briefings?
You will take ownership of safety, health, environment and quality, promoting high standards and ensuring incidents are reported.
You will support business initiatives, including Service Strike Avoidance and MILife.
Do you like being part of a standby rota for Winter Maintenance and/or Emergency Response (OOHs)?
You will support contract financial targets, including income and gross margin.
Do you enjoy planning works, supervising on site and resolving issues quickly and effectively?
You will work with the wider team to ensure jobs are planned well, resourced correctly and delivered right first time.
You will monitor performance to ensure standards and inspection plans are met.
Do you take pride in ensuring operatives are inducted, briefed and working to Milestone Minimum Standards?
You will work closely with HCC to programme and deliver works, overcoming site challenges collaboratively.
Do you enjoy mentoring and developing apprentices?
You will remain flexible, covering other supervisors or managers as needed.
What you'll bring:
- Good working knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation applicable to our industry.
- Commercially astute and able to ensure value is captured, costs controlled and seek efficiencies without compromising quality.
- Experience within the highway maintenance industry essential and CSCS, NRSWA and SSSTS.
- Effective communicator and exhibit role model behaviours helping individuals and teams achieve their best.
- Excellent customer relationship skills and the ability to work with the client to improve efficiency.
- Good general IT skills are essential, and ideally, you’ll be proficient in Office 365 applications.
- The ability to remain flexible in your approach to the role whilst embracing change and helping to drive that change through the wider teams and through into the delivery
