What will you be doing?
You will help the business achieve its targeted margin by ensuring cash is collected promptly and by identifying opportunities to reduce costs and maximise revenue.
You will produce clear financial and commercial reports, review monthly cost value reconciliations and keep cash forecasts up to date so teams have a confident view of performance.
You will work closely with SBU Directors, Operational Leads and their teams, building strong relationships that support effective collaboration.
You will take part in tender assessments, preparing detailed reviews of proposed contracts, while also maintaining positive relationships with key client commercial leads and agreeing contractual terms constructively.
You will support contract teams in developing margin improvement and WIP reduction plans, and you will help embed best practice to improve efficiency, strengthen margins and minimise risk.
You will also ensure contracts are administered correctly, help reduce disputes and support robust sub‑contract processes and procedures.
What you will bring:
• Degree in quantity surveying or commercial management, or an equivalent qualification
• RICS Chartership or equivalent professional status
• Accredited NEC Professional
• Strong background in the construction industry
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with construction commercial management systems and procedures
• Solid understanding of CVRs, cost collation and target cost comparison
• Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement, contract forms and measurement methods
• A keen eye for detail
