You’ll be joining our Civils projects team on HPC, in Bridgewater. We deliver specialist civil engineering for the private and public sectors across the UK, building strong relationships based on a collaborative approach.
As the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor you will be part of our SHEQ Team who are responsible for Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality for our direct employees and associated sub-contractors on the Hinkley Point C Project.

What will you be doing?
You'll advise, guide and coach all personnel on the project with the implementation of the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS)
You'll be responsible on advising on project compliance with the HSMS and statutory provisions.
Undertake site inspections /audits in accordance with the internal audit procedure and relevant standards and provide support and drive timely close out of actions.
Support the Project Manager / Director in the review and implementation of Construction Phase Plans / Project Execution Plan
Communicate effectively (Accurate, Relevant and Timely) with their line manager, particularly with the escalation of accidents and incidents.
You'll support the Project Teams in the accident / incident investigations procedure and timely communication of the findings.
Assist the project / Operating Unit (OU) with the accurate, relevant and timely reporting and recording of incidents.
We'll ask you to monitor of the project, trade contractors, designers, suppliers and assisting the Procurement Team.
Liaison with trade contractors, designers, suppliers, client, enforcement agencies and other relevant parties.
You'll assist with the development, regular review and update of the HSMS.
Contribute to the development of a behavioural safety training.
Support the business in building winning teams through promoting campaigns, attending and contributing to meetings.
To ensure the highest possible Health, Safety & Environmental standards are employed across the service, adhering to MGroup & NNB health and safety policy/ environmental policy and actively supporting the Behavioural safety culture that is an integral part of the Milestone working environment and the Zero Harm initiative at HPC.
The role will include completion of HSE Inspections.
What you’ll bring
- Previous experience in the field of Construction and/or Highways operations
- Technician grade membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH) or above
- NVQ level 3 or above in Occupational Health & Safety
- CSCS Card
- NEBOSH Certificate is desirable
- Accident/ incident investigation experience is desirable
- Core Competencies
Additional Information:
- You must be able to provide a 3 year work/unemployment /education history required for vetting process in line with HPC protocols
- The site is located remotely and a bus journey of 45 minutes each way is required to gain access
- You must be able to obtain a HPC pass
