    Where will you be working?

    As an organisation, there is little we don’t do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom.

    This role is in our Marketing Communications department, our Marketing Communications team creates and shares key content and materials to inform and engage both existing and new clients, as well as keeping our people informed about what’s happening across our Group.

    What will you be doing?

    You will act as a specialist strategic advisor to senior leaders, providing expert corporate communications counsel, strategic communications planning, high‑quality delivery, and robust performance management to our Group IT function.

    You will serve as the single point of contact between a Group Support department and Group Corporate Communications, ensuring a planned, structured, and coordinated approach to both internal and external communications.

    All your activity will align with the M Group strategy and business plan, departmental priorities, and the Group Marketing and Communications strategic priorities: Win Work, Retain and Develop Our People, and Attract Talent. Supported by the wider Corporate Communications delivery team, you will be accountable for developing and project‑managing fully costed communications plans, overseeing delivery through appropriate channels, and measuring impact and return on investment. Through this, you will ensure that communications activity consistently strengthens our brand, reputation, and engagement.

    What you’ll bring

    • Strong track record of planning, delivering and evaluating internal and external communications that support change, engagement and trust across diverse audiences 
    • Proven experience of strategic corporate communications counsel in complex, high-profile and fast-moving environments
    • Highly effective stakeholder management skills with experience of working with senior leaders and managers at all levels 
    • Exceptional written communications skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to adapt tone and content for different audiences and channels 
    • Strong planning, organisation and project management capability 
    • Confident using data, analytics and insight to driver performance and continuous improvement
    • Previous sector experience is an advantage
