Where will you be working?
We are looking for an experienced Head of Business Analysis to define, lead, and evolve our Business Analysis capability across M Group.
This is a senior leadership role focused on driving consistency, quality, and maturity across a large and diverse BA community. You will establish a clear, enterprise-wide approach to requirements, modelling, and value definition—ensuring better alignment between business needs and delivery outcomes.
Operating within the Engineering target operating model, you will play a key role in shaping a more product-aligned, value-driven approach to delivery.
Key Responsibilities - Strategy & Governance
- Define and own the enterprise BA strategy aligned to Engineering and Agile standards
- Establish clear standards for requirements, modelling, and traceability
- Provide assurance over BA quality across programmes and partners
- Ensure requirements are aligned to business outcomes and value
Standards & Ways of Working
- Embed a consistent BA approach across teams, platforms, and partners
- Develop common templates, frameworks, and tooling
- Introduce quality gates across the delivery lifecycle
- Drive adoption of standards across Agile teams and system integrators
Capability & Community Leadership
- Lead and develop a BA community of 50+ individuals
- Build a strong community of practice and promote shared learning
- Define career pathways, capability models, and development plans
- Coach and mentor senior and principal BAs
- Support organisational change and evolving team structures
Demand, Backlog & Value Alignment
- Ensure backlogs are well-structured and aligned to business value
- Create clear linkage from demand through to outcomes
- Partner with PMO/SPMO on demand management and BA planning
- Improve visibility of requirement quality, scope, and change
Insight & Continuous Improvement
- Define and track BA performance metrics
- Provide insight into delivery risks driven by poor requirements
- Improve how value is defined, tracked, and realised
- Drive continuous improvement across BA practices and tooling
About You
You are an experienced leader who can bring structure, consistency, and clarity across a complex organisation. You’re comfortable operating at scale, influencing senior stakeholders, and driving meaningful change.
- Proven experience leading a Business Analysis capability at scale
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery and engineering environments
- Track record of defining and embedding BA standards and frameworks
- Experience improving requirement quality and delivery outcomes
- Strong stakeholder engagement across Engineering, PMO, and Business teams
- Comfortable leading change in complex, multi-team environments
Desirable:
- Experience in product-led or product-aligned organisations
- Familiarity with SFIA or capability frameworks
- Experience working with system integrators and external partners
- Knowledge of tools such as Azure DevOps and modelling tools
