Where will you be working?
We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.
This role will be within our Water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

What will you be doing?
You'll strengthen Frontline Engagement & Workforce Voice where you'll facilitate meaningful engagement with operatives and frontline teams, creating psychologically safe environments where people can openly discuss risk, challenge and operational reality.
We'll need you to develop Leadership & Supervisor Capability by coaching and challenging senior leaders, managers and supervisors to understand how leadership decisions, operational pressures and working conditions influence frontline behaviour.
You'll embed HOP principles & Organisational Learning, introducing and embedding Human and Organisational Performance principles, Learning Teams and systems-thinking approaches to understand how work is really performed and why decisions make sense at the time
You'll own the Culture & Behavioural Performance Strategy through developing and leading the Water Division approach to culture and behavioural performance, translating strategy into practical contract-level improvement.
We'll need you to lead ISWM & Group Culture Alignment and act as the Water Division lead and interface with Group for It Starts With Me, ensuring Group initiatives translate into meaningful and sustainable operational change.
You'll lead Contract-Level Behavioural Improvement working directly with contracts experiencing behavioural, cultural or recurring performance challenges, diagnosing underlying conditions and delivering targeted interventions.
What you’ll bring
- Do you have strong knowledge of behavioural science, psychology, human factors, HOP or organisational development, with the ability to apply the theory practically?
- Have you got demonstrable experience improving culture, behaviours or organisational performance within a complex operational environment? Safety-critical industry experience is highly desirable.
- Are you able to facilitate Learning Teams, workshops and challenging conversations with everyone from frontline operatives to Managing Directors?
- Do you have strong coaching and influencing capability, with the confidence to constructively challenge senior leaders without relying on positional authority?
- Are you able to look beyond individual actions and identify how leadership, systems, workload, planning, resources and operational pressures influence behaviour and outcomes?
- Do you have a Degree or equivalent professional experience in psychology, behavioural science, human factors, organisational development, HOP or a related discipline? A traditional H&S qualification should not be essential.
- Do you have demonstrable experience turning cultural or behavioural insight into practical interventions and being able to evidence whether those interventions have actually improved organisational performance.
- Do you hold a valid driving licence? This will be required to carry out the role as this is a UK based role covering all of our contracts.
