  • Right across infrastructure, there’s a requirement to not only maintain, but also renew and reimagine. Whatever stage you’re at in your career, with us you’ll have an opportunity to grow and develop. Delivering essential infrastructure services for life, while being safety first, and client and customer centric in a friendly, fun and respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.

    Where will you be working?

We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards.  We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.

This role will be within our Water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

Want to be a part of it?

    What will you be doing?

You'll be operating on a targeted part-time basis, where you'll provide critical analytical, integration, and forecasting support for major water infrastructure contracts. The role requires a comprehensive review of the current governance driving both commercial and planning aspects to establish an accurate baseline. Following this review, you'll bridge operational silos by integrating these two disciplines into a single analytics framework, delivering risk-adjusted forecasts that enable the Portfolio Manager to proactively identify cost overruns and schedule slippage.

As our Project Performance & Analytics Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in bringing together project controls, commercial performance, and planning data to provide a single, accurate view of project and portfolio performance. Working closely with both commercial and planning teams, you'll identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy, strengthen governance, and drive data-led decision making across the business.

You'll begin by reviewing current governance structures, reporting processes, and the interaction between commercial and planning functions. Through detailed analysis of workflows and data handovers between ERP, cost management and scheduling systems, you'll establish project performance baselines, identify the root causes of forecasting inaccuracies, and implement clear data protocols to improve consistency and reliability.

A key focus of the role will be integrating commercial and project planning information. You'll ensure project costs align with verified site progress, map project milestones against Value of Work Done (VOWD), and create greater transparency between financial and operational performance. By bridging the gap between teams, you'll help eliminate siloed working and ensure project dependencies, programme timelines, and financial forecasts remain aligned.

Using your analytical expertise, you'll develop integrated forecasting models that combine schedule and cost performance indicators to deliver accurate Estimate at Completion (EAC) projections. You'll also build predictive tools and early warning mechanisms that highlight emerging risks, identify variances between cash flow and project progress, and enable proactive intervention before issues impact project margins.

You'll take ownership of the analytical inputs for monthly integrated project reviews, providing robust performance insights that support informed decision making and encourage accountability across project teams. Through structured governance processes, you'll help commercial and planning stakeholders reconcile assumptions and maintain confidence in project forecasts.

You'll also lead the development of integrated performance frameworks, introducing meaningful KPIs such as Earned Value Management (EVM), cost-to-complete tracking, and other measures that provide a balanced view of project health. Alongside this, you'll design, build and maintain intuitive Power BI or Tableau dashboards, creating a single source of truth for project and portfolio performance that supports strategic decision making at every level of the organisation.

Please note this is a part-time role of 24 hours per week.
