    Where will you be working?

    We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards.  We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.

    This role will be within our demand management and network infrastructure team.  We look after 60 million meters and our teams provide advanced metering solutions to help manage demand for essential suppliers.

    What will you be doing? 

    As our Plumbing Trainer you'll bring your passion for coaching to work on our Thames Water Smart Metering Programme. 

    You'll be responsible for developing & overseeing our Plumber recruitment drive to ensure we have a competent workforce to work on our challenging yet rewarding programme. You'll predominately be based in Dartford but will be required to cover the whole of Thames Water operating area. You'll report directly to the Area Plumbing Manager who is responsible for all plumbing activities in London and Thames Valley.

    You'll be training and mentoring our new plumbers through our trainee programme.
     
    You'll be responsible for the continuous coaching of existing operatives in the field. Liaise with plumbing supervisors to identify target areas.
     
    You'll maintain and upkeep the training centre. Keep up to date manuals and training materials, such as Tool Box Talks, briefings etc.  Assist in supervision to cover when needed.
     
    As well as being our designated Plumbing Trainer, you may be required to assist in supervision to cover leave, sickness etc. 

    What you’ll bring 

    • Plumbing NVQ Level 2 
    • National Water Hygiene (EUSR) 
    • Experience in Metering preferable but not essential as training can be given. 
    • Full clean driving licence
